'Acts Of Faith' - August 13

I have made it a habit to read my 'Acts Of Faith' book daily given to me by a dear friend of mine. With the events going on in my life I found it very interesting that this particular passage was written for today. It goes as follows:

Let go!

When we believe we are losing control , we grab on tight. if we want to avoid pain, we hold on for dear life. When we are in fear of losing, looking bad or being abandoned, we tighten our grip. When our greatest fear comes upon us, we clench our fist and teeth, close our eyes and hold on. We must learn how to let go. We have the capacity to live through any adversity if we simply let go. We cannot stop time or destiny. Whatever is going to happen has already happened; we must learn how to see it through to the end. When we hold on we prolong the pain. When we dig our feet in, we must be uprooted. When the time comes for growth and change, we must have the courage and faith to let go.

Whatever leaves my life makes room for something better.

This passage really had to be God's way of telling me something in regards to past relationships and friendships. Over the years I have learned that I have had a hard time with losing people. But This year I have learned that if a person is going to be in my life they will be there. I don't have to fight to keep them. They will just automatically stay. I think many of us fear being alone or fear that we won't be able to have something better. I recently have been dealing with the loss of a romantic relationship. But after reading this I've noticed that when I just chill, relax, and let life happen, I am more calm, more at peace and more happy with things. I know that there are better things for me out there and I know God is cultivating me to be prepared for them.

I had a very bad reaction to something today and I let my anger and emotions get the best of me. I felt relieved to get the feelings off my chest but the way I went about it may not have been the best thing to do. I had to come to my senses pray on it and seek forgiveness from God because I know I shouldn't have reacted that way. I guess today's passage in 'Acts of Faith' was a reminder that I have to let go of people who don't want to be in my life. I have done it before and I am still here to tell the tale. I am certain I will still be just fine.
